Speaker: Julian Bell, Curator, Weald and Downland Museum, Singleton, West Sussex
Julian is responsible for the care, research, interpretation and development of the Museum’s designated buildings and artefact collections, and for improvements to their public access. His team works to achieve these goals, undertaking projects such as digitising the Museum’s slide collection, providing digital images for all artefacts, repairing and conserving larger items around the Museum’s site, and facilitating both permanent and temporary displays. Julian’s team also administers the Museum’s woodyard, which is used for demonstrations using the timber crane, rack saw and hand tools. Julian also undertakes various green woodworking demonstrations at the Museum’s events and also helps to publicise the Museum and its activities.
